Friday Photo Feature: New York City: “Looking Up”

It might be raining outside in Brooklyn, by in my kitchen, it’s raining parm! Spaghetti and meatballs = ultimate fall comfort food. Buon appetito!

Pesto is super easy and summery! Literally no “real” recipe...just add to a food processor: garlic cloves (as many as you like!), a big bunch of fresh basil leaves (maybe 2-3 cups), glug of olive oil, a handful of toasted walnuts or pine nuts, a handful of grated parmigiano cheese, salt and pepper. Blend and taste for salt. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain but save some pasta water. Return pasta to pot with a dollop of butter and swirl in pesto. Add a little pasta water to blend it all together in a silky green cloud of happiness! Sprinkle with extra parm and red pepper flakes (if you like spice!) Buon appetito!
